Aditya Elango is a former international badminton player from Tamil Nadu. He started playing badminton at the age of 10 in 1999. Aditya Elango studied in Vana Vani matriculation Hr. Sec School, IIT Madras from a very young age Aditya balanced both his studies and his badminton ambitions. In 2004 he became the first badminton player from Tamil Nadu to represent India in any age category. Aditya represented Junior India at Asian Badminton Championship in KL, Malaysia, and at the Junior World Badminton Championship in Auckland, New Zealand. He reached a high world rank of 80 in Men Singles in 2011. This was the first time a badminton player from Tamil Nadu had represented India at any world championship in badminton. No player from Tamil Nadu has surpassed his world rank in the last 12 years.

  • Bronze Medallist at the 2010 OPT Tahiti International Series Tournament

  • Silver Medalist in the 14th “Noumea International Future Series” 2009

  • Part of the state team that won the first-ever bronze medal for Tamil Nadu in the 2011 National Games at Ranchi
  • Ranked No.2 in Junior Boys Singles 2006-2007
  • Represented AIR INDIA 2006-2007, 2007-2008
  • Part of the AIR INDIA team which won the Naarang cup for junior boys at the 2006 Junior National Badminton Championship at Panchkula
